I have always led an active lifestyle, playing organized sports and participating in outdoor activities. I never imagined being able to make a living out of exercising, but I have been working happily as a personal trainer since 2004. After earning my BS in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from James Madison University (2004), I thought I wanted to research athletic equipment design; yet I found myself applying for a personal trainer position at the local Gold’s Gym. I have been training since then at various clubs and gyms in the DC metro area and Denver, CO. This list includes 24-Hour Fitness, the Colorado Athletic Club Downtown, Verve Health and Fitness, and Georgetown University (see resume for more information). I recently started Body Mechanic Fitness, LLC and now train primarily in south-east Denver.
Since 2004, I have earned my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from The National Strength and Conditioning Association (http://nsca-lift.org) and my Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (http://nasm.org). I also have a current CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross.
While not in the gym, I enjoy road cycling, hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, soccer, basketball, brewing beer, cooking, eating, and reading.
